‘Kolavari Di’ an insult to sensibilities: Javed Akhtar

Javed says Kolaveri D's tune is ordinary,singing substandard,words an insult to sensibility.

Dhanush’s ‘Kolaveri di’,which has become an online rage and also found a fan in Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan,has failed to impress lyricist Javed Akhtar.

The 66-year-old,who has spent more than four decades in the industry and regarded as one of the sought-after lyricists,says that the Tanglish (Tamil and English) song is an insult to sensibilities.

“KOLAVARI-D. Every one is praising the robes but the emperor is naked. Tune ordinary,singing substandard,words an insult to sensibility,” posted Akhtar on Twitter.

The song,which is a funny take on a heartbreak,is from the Dhanush’s upcoming Tamil movie ‘3’ and has became a craze on internet with over 15 million views on YouTube.

The video shows Dhanush,the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth,singing in a studio with composer Anirudh Ravichander,Aishwarya R Dhanush and co-star Shruti Hassan.

The catchy tune has also inspired imitations in different other languages.
