King’s Speech leads Oscar nominations with 12 nods

The King's Speech and True Grit led the pack in Oscar nominations,followed by Inception and The Social Network.

The King’s Speech,a British drama detailing the efforts of wartime monarch King George VI to overcome a fierce stammer,led the Oscar field on Tuesday with 12 nominations.

True Grit,a Western remake about a young girl’s brave quest to track down her father’s killer,followed with 10 nominations.

The sci-fi thriller Inception and the Facebook drama The Social Network received eight nominations each.

The Mark Wahlberg starrer,The Fighter bagged seven nominations,while Danny Boyle’s 127 hours got six.

Black Swan did not disappoint and received five nominations,including Best Director and Best Actress. On the other hand,Toy Story 3 also ended with five nominations.

Winners of the 83rd annual Academy Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Hollywood on Feb. 27.
