Hollywood actor Johnny Depp hates dancing,but has been forced by the director of his upcoming film to do a tango.
The 46-year-old actor had to put on his dancing shoes for Terry Gilliam,who directed him in ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’,reported Mirror online.
Asked on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival who the best dancer was,Gilliam said,”I think Johnny has to do the dancing (in the film) and he hates dancing.”
“He said,’men don’t dance’,and yet we get him tangoing,” the director added.
The film revolves around an immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus,played by Christopher Plummer,who leads a travelling theatre troupe that offers audience members a chance to go beyond reality through a magical mirror in his possession.
Depp plays a mysterious member of the troupe in the film,which also stars Heath Ledger,Jude Law,and Colin Farrell.
The film was Ledger’s last role before his death in January 2008 due to an accidental overdose of prescribed drugs.
