Heath Ledger’s death made me re-evaluate life: Gyllenhall
The sudden demise of his friend and actor Heath Ledger led actor Jake Gyllenhall to re-evaluate his life.
The sudden demise of his friend and actor Heath Ledger led actor Jake Gyllenhall to re-evaluate his life as the star realised he had become too focused on his career.
The 29-year old star was devastated when his ‘Brokeback Mountain’ co-star died from an accidental drug overdose in January 2008.
But the loss made him look at his life and Gyllenhall credits Ledger’s passing with giving him the courage to make changes,GQ magazine reported.
“Life,I didn’t totally understand. And I think I was afraid of life. And I had success in my work, enough success that you could keep going back there,” Gyllenhall said.
“But after (Ledger’s death) happened… I think I recognised that it was work. And I recognised that this is for real,” he added.
