AEG to refund Jackson concert tickets

AEG Live,the promoters of Jackson’s comeback concerts,will issue full refunds,including all ticket service charges to the 750,000 fans,who bought tickets for the late pop star’s July shows.

The Los Angeles-based company behind Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ concerts,scheduled to begin from July 13 at London’s O2 Arena,had sold 750,000 tickets for the 50 shows,which amount to more than USD 85 million.

The company has announced a full reimbursement to tickets purchased through “authorised agents”. The offer to receive the tickets will remain valid through August 14,the Los Angeles Times reported.

Ticket holders seeking refunds will be directed to http://www.MichaelJacksonLive.com from July 1. The reimbursements will be processed by such ticketing agencies as Ticketmaster,Ticketline and the ticket-reselling agent Viagogo in the UK,the announcement said.

“The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known,” Randy Phillips,chief executive of AEG Live,said in a statement.

“Since he loved his fans in life,it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death,” Phillips added.

However,Jackson’s die-hard fans from 200 countries,who bought the tickets to his comebacks,also have the option to receive a specially designed tickets instead of a refund.

AEG is offering ticket holders the choice to receive an expensive memento instead of a full refund.

Printed with a “special lenticular process”,a kind of 3-D image that changes or moves when viewed from different angles,the tickets were “inspired and designed” by Jackson,the announcement said.

The online website eBay has also confirmed to fully refund fans who bought tickets to the O2 concerts through its website.
