LMC Dog Registration Guide: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation has been continuously monitoring dog ownership in the city and pushing for licensing of pets. A dog licence from the Lucknow Municipal Corporation must be obtained as soon as you get a dog as a pet.
Dog licence is a must to control and monitor the pet population, ensure public safety through vaccination records, and comply with the municipal Dog Control By-law 2003. The licence helps the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) maintain records, manage stray animals, and prevent the spread of diseases like rabies by ensuring pets are vaccinated and identifiable.
It also helps bring accountability on pet owners.
The civic body conducts drives from time to time to identify and penalise dog owners without registrations for their pets.
