Actor and former cricketer Yograj Singh, who has said in several interviews that he has no regrets in life and has only cried when his mother died, had a change of heart recently. Not only did he apologise to everybody that he has wronged in his life, he did so through tears. In an interview, Yograj admitted that he has made many mistakes in his life, and begged forgiveness of Yuvraj and his first wife; they both left when Yuvraj was 17 and hadn't yet made his India debut. In past interviews, Yograj said that he imposed strict restrictions upon his first wife in the years when he was training Yuvraj to become a cricketing legend. Appearing on the Fivewood Podcast, Yograj said that he had a near-death experience some months ago, and his survival was a miracle. He said that he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, after which he rushed to the hospital. There, after getting a few tests done, he was told that he would have to be operated on and that the chances of his survival were slim. The experience changed something within him, and after declaring numerous times that he has no regrets in life, and that he would put Yuvraj through the same abuse if given another opportunity to raise him, Yograj admitted that he has behaved poorly in the past. He said that all he can wish for now is to be granted 'moksha' from this life. Everything I did was because it had come down to my self-respect and my family. I have deleted most of those memories, because that's what Guru told me to do. But I beg forgiveness with folded hands. I request anybody that I've harmed, be it an outsider or someone from my own family, to forgive me. I ask forgiveness of my children, my wife, Yuvi's mother, and everybody else. It was all my fault. If I've ever spoken ill about any friend, any competitor, be it in cricket or films, I am sorry. I have no qualities; I only have flaws. I have not done a single decent thing in life." He said that can't even dream of repeating the mistakes that he has made in his life. "I sleep soundly. I don't need any pills. When I die, I want Guru to be proud of me," he said, adding that he calls his ex-wife and his current wife 'Mata', and that he sees 'Gurus' in his sons. In a recent interview on the Highbrow Studios YouTube channel, Yograj said that he is essentially estranged from his entire family, and that he doesn't miss any of them. He went so far as to say that he has turned to religion, and that he has no sons and daughters. “I have never missed them, but I am grateful that I was able to give them a good upbringing,” he said. In another interview, with SMTV, Yograj said that one of the reasons why he doesn't get along with his family and children is that they are afraid he would put his grandson Orion through the same hardships as he did Yuvraj. "The day Yuvi hands his children over to me, they will meet the same fate as he did. You can only forge gold through fire. There will be no mercy, because there is only one path… That’s what they fear, and that’s why we aren’t together,” he said. Appearing on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, Yuvraj admitted that he is afraid that his father could force Orion to play cricket, and that he doesn't want to repeat the mistakes that his dad made.
