Music composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) soared to new heights of fame following his remarkable work in the Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise, which earned him a prestigious National Award. Although DSP is a well-known figure in Tamil and Telugu cinema, his most ardent supporter in Bollywood is superstar Salman Khan.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, DSP shared how Salman Khan once rang him late at night to express his admiration for his work in Pushpa. He said, “First, I want to say a huge thanks to Salman bhai. He has always been my biggest cheerleader, he has been a huge support to me and he calls me almost for all his films and says, ‘Devi give me a song’. He loves me and for some reason he has a lot of affection for me. He would even talk about me to other directors and producers. He treats me like his own family and I thank him for so much love. Once, he called me when Saami Saami was released. He rang me at night and without saying a word, he started singing “Aye Saami Saami” on the call.”

DSP’s involvement in Hindi films, many of which feature Salman Khan in pivotal roles, has been substantial, commencing with the hit track “Dhinka Chika” in the 2011 film Ready. He continued to deliver chart-topping single tracks for various Salman Khan movies, such as “Naacho Re” in Jai Ho, “Seeti Maar” in Radhe, and a song in Salman Khan’s most recent film, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Currently, DSP is actively engaged in composing the music for the sequel to Pushpa, titled Pushpa: The Rule. Moreover, he has projects in both Telugu and Tamil cinema on the horizon, including the Telugu film Ustaad Bhagat Singh and the Tamil film Kanguva.
