Like any other megastar, Shah Rukh Khan is no stranger to being mobbed by fans wherever he goes. From selfies to autographs, most fan requests follow a familiar pattern. But once, the Bollywood icon encountered a fan who took admiration to a whole new level, by sneaking into his house just to take a bath in his swimming pool. Yes, you heard that right. Shah Rukh himself narrated this bizarre incident back in 2016 while promoting his film Fan on the talk show Aap Ki Adalat.
Recalling the event, he revealed: “I was completely shocked when this happened. It was either my birthday or some interviews where a lot of journalists had come to Mannat to interview me. And amidst all of them, a fan also sneaked in, and then, he took off his clothes, jumped into my swimming pool and swam one full length. When the security guard caught him asking who he was, he said, ‘I don’t want anything. I just wanted to bath in Shah Rukh Khan’s swimming pool.’ And then he said, ‘Now I have taken bath in the water with which Shah Rukh bathes, now I’ll leave’. So even the security got so amused that they instantly called me and I too was shocked. And I said I would like to meet this person because it’s so weird, but then he said that he doesn’t want to meet me, and he really left.”
The story, both amusing and unbelievable, perfectly captures the kind of devotion Shah Rukh Khan inspires among his fans, sometimes to the point of eccentricity.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King, where he shares screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor.
If reports are to be believed, the first look of King is expected to be unveiled on Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday, much to the delight of his fans.
