War 2 Box Office Collection Day 10: Although Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani’s War 2 opened to a whopping Rs 52 crore at the domestic box office, its daily earnings began declining soon, owing to negative reviews. On its tenth day, War 2 witnessed a slight growth after collecting just Rs 4 crore on Day 9. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film recorded an India nett collection of Rs 6.25 crore on Saturday, taking its total in the domestic market to Rs 214.5 crore.

On the day, the film had an overall 17.90 per cent theatre occupancy in Hindi. While the morning shows began with 8.85 per cent occupancy, the afternoon, evening and night screenings registered 16.85 per cent, 20.18 per cent, 25.72 per cent, respectively. The highest theatre occupancy rate was in the Bengaluru and Chennai regions, at 36.50 per cent. The film is facing stiff competition at the theatres from the animated devotional drama Mahavatar Narsimha and Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie.

War 2 is reportedly the most expensive film in the YRF Spy Universe and was mounted on a budget of Rs 400 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. The movie’s worldwide box office collection stands at Rs 314 crore now. Although the Jr NTR-Hrithik Roshan combination was expected to work very well for the film, that hasn’t been the case. Its first instalment, the 2019 War, helmed by Siddharth Anand, had collected Rs 245.95 crore in its first ten days. It featured Hrithik, Vaani Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff in lead roles.

An excerpt from SCREEN’S review of War 2, read, “It’s not like Hrithik Roshan, In And As Agent Kabir, back from a long hiatus after the 2019 ‘War’, isn’t trying his best. One man, countless enemies. But, for the love of everything that is a cracking spy saga, couldn’t anyone have thought of at least one scene or sequence which doesn’t remind you of something you’ve seen before? I’m also sure NTR Jr missed his fizzy RRR co-star Ram Charan when swinging through the air, and Kiara Advani, playing the sprightly army woman Kavya, missed an actual fleshed-out role in this boys-and-their-toys flick.”

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 also stars Ashutosh Rana, Anil Kapoor, and Varun Badola in pivotal roles. War 2 is the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) popular Spy Universe, which started with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Ek Tha Tiger. The franchise has released several back-to-back hits such as Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3.

While Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as Kabir in War 2, Jr NTR marks his Bollywood debut here as the antagonist, and Kiara Advani plays the female lead. It has been written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala based on a story by Aditya Chopra.
