Actress Vijayta Pandit recently urged Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to help her son establish himself in Bollywood. In an earlier interview, Vijayta had claimed that her late husband Aadesh Shrivastava had taken a promise from Shah Rukh on his deathbed. Now, in an exclusive interview with Indianexpress.com, Vijayta shared that neither SRK nor his team has reached out to her, even after she tried contacting them.
She said, “I am the only parent with Avitesh, so I have to make sure that he has to become something in life. When this incident happened I was there. Aadeshji held SRK’s hand and pointed towards Avitesh. Now is the time when Avitesh should be playing the main hero. Nothing has happened even after I spoke up. I tried reaching out again. I got his secretary Pooja Dadlani’s number. I tried calling her two or three times, but she did not answer. SRK is a wonderful person, a very sweet boy.”
Vijayta Pandit also recalled that she had met Shah Rukh Khan when he was working on Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. Sharing that anecdote, Vijayta said, “When he was working on Raju Bangaya Gentleman, I had gone to his house in Carter Road. It was an old house in an old building, and he lived on the first floor. I went with Jatin and Lalit, and he was so happy to see me there. That time there was no sofa in his house, we sat on mattresses. It was a small room. His wife Gauri Khan served us some cold drinks. He told me he loved my film and later added how the houses in Mumbai were very small.”
Vijayta added, “Shah Rukh was new in the industry when I met him, and today he has a bungalow in Mannat. God has given him so much, so now he has to keep his promise. I am not saying they should sign him for a film, they should just recommend him. Help him audition.”
In the exclusive interview, Vijayta Pandit also expressed regret over losing work and taking a step back from the industry during her prime years. She now hopes to work in films if the role is impactful.
