Utkarsh Sharma, who will soon be seen in Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2, has been associated with the movies since his childhood. He made his debut as a child actor in the 2001 film Gadar and during his teenage years, Utkarsh worked as an assistant director in Hindi movies. In a recent interview, Utkarsh recalled an incident where he was an assistant on Salman Khan's Veer where he accidentally injured Salman while giving clap. In a chat with Lehren Retro, Utkarsh shared that he was just 14-15 years old at the time and he was still learning how to give a clap on set. Claps are used to record the scene number, take number and provide sync between audio and video while shooting on film. Utkarsh said that he was asked by the cameraperson to give the clap close to Salman's face as they were shooting a close up and he did what he was asked to do. "The cameraman told me to take it close to his face, since it was a tele(photo lens) shot so I was supposed to give it very close to his face. I took it very close to his face and I did it (gave the clap) and his nose came in between," he shared. He said that Salman was looking down so he didn't see it coming. "He was deep in thought and he wasn't looking. He didn't get angry but I apologised a lot," he said. The Gadar 2 actor added that Salman's make-up team gave him a "look" but saw it as a "learning experience." Utkarsh added, "Salman sir is a very sweet person and I was often the person they sent when he was to be called on the set from his vanity. Because I was little so he would sometimes listen to me," he said. Utkarsh Sharma starrer Gadar 2 releases in theatres on August 11.
