Actor Tiger Shroff is gearing up for the release of Baaghi 4, the darkest film of the Baaghi franchise. However, he witnessed a career slump in the past few years after a string of consecutive box office failures, including Ganpath, Heropanti 2, and Bade Mitan Chote Miyan. In a recent interview, Tiger opened up about the upcoming installment, his different character, struggling through the dark period of his career, and much more.

During a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, he opened up about his thoughts and the moment and said, “Feeling restless, happy, excited, blessed, and grateful that the audiences are going to see a very different side of me in my next release Baaghi 4. I’m really looking forward to their response. The last few years have definitely not been easy, but it’s been such a learning curve. I think because of it, I’ve sort of become a better artist.”

The actor further added that he has imparted the lessons of his tough phase into his upcoming movie, Baaghi 4. “I’ve put all those learnings into Baaghi 4 and I’m hoping that the audience—and you, Sir—see it. As I mentioned earlier, you can never really predict the fate of a film. But we’ve honestly given our thousand percent on this one. I’m just so grateful God has blessed the Baaghi franchise. The fact that it has reached its fourth instalment is a very, very big deal for me, and I’m deeply thankful to Sajid Nadiadwala Sir for giving me this platform and this franchise.”

His parents Jackie Shroff and Ayesha Shroff have always been his pillars of support during every successful as well as difficult period. “My parents are my soulmates. I’m really, really grateful and blessed,” he expressed.

When asked about what went possibly wrong with his last release Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, with Akshay Kumar, he shared, “With Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, honestly, I thought it had everything going for it. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite connect with audiences. But I really enjoyed the whole process of shooting the film and I’m forever grateful to (producers) Vashu Bhagnani ji and Jackky Bhagnani ji.”

Tiger continued, “To our director Ali Abbas Zafar Sir—who is one of my most favourite directors—and of course, my co-actor and childhood hero, Akshay Kumar Sir. We had a blast shooting the film, and I wouldn’t change anything if I had to do the film again.”

The actor has always maintained his ‘action hero’s image since his very first release. However, Baaghi 4’s trailer gave a glimpse of his violent, gruesome, and bloodshedding character. “I do believe action is definitely my forte. I’m very grateful that people have accepted me as an action hero in the industry. It’s tough to constantly reinvent myself in the genre, though. But with Baaghi 4, I’m quite confident this is a very different aspect, perspective, and language of action that I’ve attempted,” he explained.

He added, “I’m hoping audiences enjoy it. This is a very different version of me and, I’d say, a sub-genre within the action genre. I’m hoping that just as audiences accepted me in War when I did something different, they’ll accept me the same way in this avatar.”

Directed by A Harsha, Baaghi 4 also features Harnaaz Sandhu, Sonam Bajwa, and Sanjay Dutt. The film is set to hit the theatres on September 5.
