Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 gets 23 cuts even after an ‘A’ certificate: Knife thrown towards Jesus Christ statue; reference to condom, God
Baaghi 4 is being touted as the "bloodiest" and "goriest" of the blockbuster Tiger Shroff franchise. But the CBFC has issued as many as 23 cuts despite its 'A' certification.

The makers of A Harsha’s action thriller Baaghi 4 have promised that the fourth instalment is going to be the bloodiest and goriest of the blockbuster Tiger Shroff franchise. It even flaunted its ‘A’ certification in the film’s publicity material, as producer Sajid Nadiadwala seems to be taking it in the direction of the 2023 blockbuster, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Adults Only’ family crime drama Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor.
However, even after getting an ‘A’ certificate on August 26, weeks before Baaghi 4‘s theatrical release this Friday on September 5, the makers were asked to make as many as 23 cuts in their film. These included visual and audio cuts, related to religious sentiments, abusive language, gory scenes, and inappropriate sexual gestures.
As per Bollywood Hungama, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave Baaghi 4 an ‘A’ certificate only after it made all the 23 cuts. Days after its certification, on August 29, the makers approached the CBFC again not with any objections, but even more voluntary cuts, bringing down the film’s runtime from 2 hours and 43 minutes to 2 hours and 37 minutes.
Baaghi 4 isn’t the first film to incorporate voluntary cuts after certification. Recent releases like Ayan Mukerji’s spy thriller War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, and Vivek Agnihotri’s political drama The Bengal Files, which is slated to release on the same day as Baaghi 4, also opted for the same. Below is a list of cuts CBFC asked the makers of Baaghi 4 to execute:
Visual cuts
- Deletion of a shot in which Shroff is standing on a coffin.
- Replacement of a shot featuring the rubbing of a hand on a girl’s hip
- Deletion of a one-second shot of the lighting of a cigarette from a niranjan diya (lamp)
- Deletion of a 13-second shot of an amputated hand lighting a cigarette

- Deletion of the “scene of hit of fist and the leaning of the statue of Jesus”
- Deletion of three scenes where the human throat is being slashed

Audio cuts
- Replacement of the words “bhang b*****a”
- Replacement of “b****e” and “fingering” used by cops with appropriate terminology.
- Muting of the word “condom” in the dialogue, “Bhai tujhe condom mein hi rehna chahiye tha” (Bro, you should’ve stayed in your condom)
- Replacement of the dialogue “Tera wajood hi mit jaayega God” (Your existence will be wiped out, God) with the dialogue, “Sab dekhte reh jayenge” (Everybody will just keep staring)
