Tanmay Bhat addresses viral report claiming his net worth is Rs 665 crore: ‘Wildly off’
A report claimed that Tanmay Bhat's net worth stands at Rs 665 cr, and that he's the wealthiest content creator in the industry.

Comedy is a serious business, and apparently, an extremely lucrative one, too. Comedian Tanmay Bhat has responded to a viral news report, which calculated his net worth to be a whopping Rs 665 cr — an unheard of figure for any comedian in the country. But is it accurate?
When an X user posted a screengrab of a wealth management startup that claimed that the co-founder of the now-defunct comedy collective AIB is the richest content creator in the country, it naturally caused ripples online, with many expressing their shock over the figures that were reported. Bhat was number one on the list, with a alleged net worth of Rs 665 cr, followed by Technical Guruji at Rs 356 cr, Bhuvan Bam at Rs 122 cr, Ranveer Allahbadia at Rs 58 cr, and Ajey Nagar (Carry Minati) at Rs 50 cr.
“In today’s episode of ‘What’s the point of even getting up in the morning?’… apparently folks like Tanmay Bhat are worth 665 crores,” tweeted journalist Suchin Mehrotra. Responding to his tweet, Tanmay posted a series of laughter emojis, and replied, “I can assure you this number is wildly off – at least for me.”

A Business Standard report also claimed that Bhat posted another tweet, mentioning that no one can earn Rs 665 crore by posting memes on social media. He later deleted this tweet.
Even before Bhat clarified his reported net worth, several people on X claimed that the numbers were heavily exaggerated. “The number looks wayyyy off. have they included a methodology? Networth can have really loose definitions,” a user wrote, while another noted, “According to the same FE, Ajay Devgan’s net worth is ~500 cr. And Tanmay Bhat is supposed to be more than that? These numbers deserve the trash bin.”
On the work front, Tanmay Bhat was one of the creatives behind the viral Ranveer Singh-Johnny Sins men’s wellness brand campaign. His YouTube page, with over 1,000 videos, has 4.72M subscribers.
