T-series apologises to Kathmandu Mayor, wants Adipurush ban reversed
The Bollywood film's producer apologised to Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah over a dialogue where Sita is described as the ‘daughter of India’.

Requesting for the ban on Adipurush to be lifted, the Bollywood film’s producer apologised to Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah over a dialogue where Sita is described as the ‘daughter of India’.
In a letter to Mayor Shah, T-Series said that the mistake has been corrected and assured that the error was not intentional.
Shah had issued an order banning the film in Kathmandu after taking objection to a line of dialogue in the film, which is an adaptation of Ramayana. “Until and unless the slogan ‘Janki is a daughter of India’ contained in the South Indian film Adipurush is not true not only in Nepal but also in India, no Hindi film will be allowed to run in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Three days have been given to correct this. Hail to Mother Sita,” Mayor Shah wrote in a tweet.

Later on, he extended the ban to all Indian films, beginning from Monday.
“Screening of all the Hindi films will be barred within Kathmandu Metropolitan City from Monday, June 19, as the objectionable words in the dialogue of the film Adipurush has not yet been removed,” Shah had said in his Facebook post.
“We have already issued notice three days ago to remove the objectionable portion of the dialogue that ‘Sita is India’s daughter’ from the movie within three days,” he added.
Besides Shah, the Mayor of Dharan in eastern Nepal, Harka Sampang, has also called for a ban on the film claiming it distorted Nepal’s history and culture. And standing alongside Kathmandu Metropolis, the Pokhara Metropolitan City has also enforced a ban on the screening of Indian films following the dialogue controversy.
Sita is one of the officially declared Heroes (Bibhuti) of Nepal.
