Sushmita Sen receives honorary doctorate, proud father receives it on her behalf: ‘Thank you Baba! You stood tall and proud’

Actor Sushmita Sen is proud and elated with the latest feather added to her hat. The former Miss Universe has received an Honorary Doctor of Letters (D. Litt) degree from Techno India University in West Bengal. While Sushmita was unable to receive it in person, her father Shubeer Sen accepted it on her behalf.

Sharing photos of the honorary doctorate and her father accepting it at the felicitation ceremony, the actor wrote, “Hon (Dr.) Sushmita Sen.Just had to see how it looked together!!! Missed receiving the D.Litt in person, down with the worst viral…but to have my father @sensubir receive this honour on my behalf yesterday …this is EVERYTHING!!Thank you Baba!!!! You stood tall & proud!!!!#celebrating #honorarydoctorate #graduatinglifewithhonors I love you guys!! #duggadugga.”

Sushmita Sen is currently busy promoting her upcoming series Taali.

Besides Aarya 3, Taali is one of the most-awaited projects of the actor. In the series, Sushmita essays the role of transgender Shreegauri Sawant, who made history by giving the transgender community a seat at the table and being recognised as the third gender. The actor also recently revealed that her elder daughter Renee have given her voice to the chants of mahamritunjaya mantra heard during the movie.

The show is helmed by National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav and created by Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar. Taali will start streaming on JioCinema from 15 August.
