Suniel Shetty on Athiya and KL Rahul’s marriage: ‘She is blessed to have him, not necessarily the other way around’

Suniel Shetty, who has been happily married to his wife Mana Shetty for 24 years, has valuable lessons to share with the younger generation about successful relationships. In a recent interview, Suniel offered advice to his daughter Athiya Shetty, who married cricketer KL Rahul in January this year. Suniel advised Athiya to have complete trust in her partner and be his champion.

During an interview with Mid-Day, when the Hera Pheri actor was asked about the advice he would give his daughter, he said, “Be someone who believes in your partner blindly. Trust him completely. He is an athlete, he will travel, you will not be able to travel with him all the time. Just like actors, athletes see highs and lows.”

Suniel was also asked what warning he would convey to his son-in-law, KL Rahul. He replied, “Don’t be such a beautiful human being that we seem inferior when it comes to you. Don’t be such a good boy that everyone believes that this is what goodness is all about and not you. That’s the kind of a child he is. I always tell Athiya, you are blessed, not necessarily the other way around. Of course, Athiya is a beautiful child but… my wife, my mother, my sisters-in-law, my sister… all are obsessed with Rahul.”

Athiya and KL Rahul tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on January 23, 2023, after dating for several years. The wedding took place at Suniel Shetty’s beautiful farmhouse in Khandala.
