OTT giant Prime Video has just released the teaser for their upcoming action flick, Subedaar, starring veteran actor Anil Kapoor. The announcement was made via Instagram, with the studio releasing the trailer on the same day as Kapoor's birthday. Kapoor plays a retired soldier who is now facing different enemies in his civilian life while juggling a troubled relationship with his daughter, played by Radhika Madan. The official plotline of the movie reads, "The man who once fought for his nation must now fight enemies within to protect his home and family." While the trope of a retired soldier dealing with civilian life and its evils is not a unique one, it will be interesting to see how the narrative of this movie turns out. In the teaser, he is seen getting ready for battle as people threaten him and try to get inside his home. Unfazed, Anil's character - called 'Chacha' by the mob - takes his seat, cocks his gun and prepares for what is going to unfold. Triveni, who made a name for himself with short films, made his mark in mainstream media with films like Jalsa and Tumhari Sulu, with the latter receiving quite a lot of critical praise. Anil Kapoor was last seen starring alongside Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan in Fighter and also played the role of Ranbir Kapoor's father in Animal. The last time that the actor was seen driving a narrative as the lead was in Thar and AK vs AK.
