Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam and T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar seem to have reconciled their relationship and buried their past. The singer, on Tuesday, visited T-Series office for Ganpati darshan and clicked pictures with Bhushan Kumar, taking netizens by a pleasant surprise.
Sonu took to his social media platfiorms and wrote, “My Brother #BhushanKumar and I are bringing back a classic song which has always been close to our hearts ❤️🎶#BitterBetrayals first song from T-Series Solos coming to you on 29th September!,” as he shared a reel with Bhushan, announcing their new collaboration — Bitter Betrayals, which is going to be the first song from T-Series solos.
The new collaboration
In the video, Sonu and Bhushan are first seen posing in front of the Ganesha idol at T-Series office in Andheri, Mumbai, and then Sonu says, “From the last many days, I had to tell you some news but the right time had not come, but it feels it the right time has now arrived. But I’ll not give you this news alone, I have my bachpan ka chhota bhai (younger brother) with me,” and introduced Bhushan Kumar in his reel, who makes the announcement, “The news is that we at T-Series, for our new solos that we are starting on our platform. The first song in this will be sung by Sonu bhai.” Sony then adds, “It is a song that’s very close to my heart, it has made my life and now we are presenting it to you as Bitter Betrayals. It’ll be out on September 29, and we hope you guys give it lots of love.”
The 2020 tiff
The duo’s collaboration has reminded netizens of the ugly spat the two of them had in 2020. Sonu, at the time had indirectly accused Bhushan of being a “music mafia” on social media. He had also released a video on his social media platforms, where he “warned” the T-Series chairman to not malign his name. In the video titled “Laaton ke MAFIA baaton se nahi maante,” the singer had said that Bhushan has instigated the wrong person.
In his vlog, Sonu had also revealed that Bhushan had pleaded with him to do an album. He also suggested the music honcho requested him to introduce the former to Subrata Roy, Smita Thackeray and Bal Thackeray. Nigam also slammed the functioning of the Indian music industry, which is controlled by two big companies.
Reacting to the Sonu’s claims, Bhushan Kumar’s wife, actress Divya Khosla Kumar called him ‘thankless’ and had said that it was T-Series that gave him a break in the industry. The actor-director had even called Nigam’s videos a publicity stunt.
Reconciliation because of Aamir Khan
Apparently the singer- producer duo set aside their past grievances after a three-year long feud and that’s because of Aamir Khan. Reportedly, the reconciliation between Sonu and Bhushan happened just before Laal Singh Chadha. It is said that Aamir emphasised on wanting Sonu to sing “Main Ki Karaan” for the film, the music for which was owned by T-Series and Bhushan took cognizance of the actor’s demand and approached Sonu for the same and the duo has been cordial ever since, in fact, Bhushan was also present at Sonu’s 50th birthday bash in July.
