Actor couple Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth spoke about their contrasting opinions about fame, with Aditi saying that she loves all the attention she gets from her fans while Siddharth finds intrusion into his personal space ‘problematic’. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he also joked that he would happily stay and home and live off Aditi’s earnings, but she put her foot down. Siddharth confessed that he never wanted to be an actor, but over two decades into the profession, he’s left with little choice.

Aditi said, “We’re the opposite. He hates attention, but I love it. I love to be loved, and he’s just hiding somewhere. I love it; I have so much fun. But, having said that, I also love my work. I always ask myself, what is it that I love about this so much. And it’s very clear. It’s not the trappings. It is the work; I love the camera, I love being on set, and I love surrendering to a director. But I’m happy with the trappings also.”

Siddharth added, “We’ve taken our own journeys to get here. It took me seven-eight years after becoming a star to not have anxiety and PTSD when people would come and speak to me. Nobody in the history of my family has ever experienced it. And I didn’t enjoy it. I was told, ‘You can’t be ungrateful’. But I’m not; it’s a mental health situation. It’s not about gratitude. If something makes your stomach churn, you shouldn’t dismiss it because you’re supposed to be grateful for the fame. I am grateful, but it took me a long time to get used to that attention.”

He continued, “I’m still an idealist; I don’t know any other way to be. When it comes to people getting into your personal space when you’re not there for work, I get very confused, like ‘Why are you doing this now? I didn’t consent to this’. It’s very problematic for me, and I’m working on it. At the same time, I do believe in doing the right thing, so I will fight and I will resist.”
