Siddhant Chaturvedi and and Wamiqa Gabbi‘s highly anticipated single “Ittefaq” dropped on Wednesday and their sizzling chemistry in the peppy dance number has left the internet impressed, with some already calling it the “Song that Gen Zs needed” and “The Gen Z anthem.”

The music video with a disco vibe, features Siddhant and Wamiqa grooving to the peppy track, showcasing some cool dance moves choreographed by Ankan Sen and Sahil M Khan. Wamiqa’s golden outfit reminds you of Parveen Babi from “Jawani Janeman.” The two-minute 48-second song has been crooned by Siddhant and Savera and composed by OAFF and Savera. Siddhant has also written the song’s catchy lyrics. The music video is directed by Arjun Varain Singh.

The Gully Boy actor took to Instagram to drop the teaser and wrote,  “Ittefaq will keep those eyes locked! Check it out.”  Zoya Akhtar was quick to react. “Yeah Baby!” she commented.  Meanwhile, fans were impressed by the music and Siddhanth’s singing and praised him in the post’s comment section.  “Will try to do the hookstep!” wrote a fan. Another one wrote, “This is gonna be on my top list.”

This isn’t the first time that Siddhant has collaborated with OAFF and Savera. The duo also composed the music for Gehraiyaan and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, also directed by Arjun. Apart from Siddhant, the film also stars Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles.

Talking about the song, Siddhant told ANI, “Music has always been a huge passion for me. For a long time, I’ve been finding a way to express myself through singing and songwriting alongside acting and dance. ‘Ittefaq’ feels like the perfect amalgamation of all these passions. I poured my heart into the creation of this song, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with the world.”

Despite the praise, the song reminds one of  OAFF and Savera‘s earlier tracks, “Beqaboo” and “I wanna see you dance” because of the similarity in the tune and melody.
