Shreyas Talpade, 47, suffered a heart attack on Thursday and underwent an angioplasty. The actor’s family shared a health update on Saturday and said that “he’s doing better now”.

Shreyas’ family members shared that he is recovering well and the surgery was successful. They also added that the actor “looked at us and smiled today morning,” reported The Times Of India. They shared that Shreyas is “cheerful” and “will talk to you in a few days time.”

A hospital source, on the day the actor underwent angioplasty, had told indianexpress.com, “Shreyas sir got admitted to the hospital at 8 pm. The procedure has been successful, and he is doing alright. He should get discharged in three to four days.” Following which, Shreyas’ wife Deepti took to social media and thanked his fans. She wrote, “I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming concern and well-wishes following the recent health scare my husband experienced. I’m relieved to update everyone that he is now in stable condition and will be discharged in a few days.”

Actor Bobby Deol had previously shared that Shreyas suffered a heart attack on Thursday after returning from a shoot. Bobby spoke to Shreyas’ wife, who informed him that Shreyas’ heart had stopped for ten minutes. He told Bollywood Hungama, “I just spoke to his wife. She was really upset. His heart had stopped for about ten minutes, apparently. Now they’ve revived him and done an angioplasty. So just pray that he will be fine.”
