Sharad Kelkar lists all the ways he and Amitabh Bachchan are alike, reveals Big B’s reaction: ‘Rejected as RJs, same anniversary, same sun sign…’

Sharad said that he didn’t tell his mother about the wedding initially, and joked that this was yet another similarity that he shares with Amitabh. Big B has often told the story of how his father forbid him to go on a holiday with Jaya Bachchan unless they were married, so they decided to tie the knot.

Sharad said, “We did it on June 3. Now, again, if we’re talking about similarities with Mr Bachchan…” He continued after Cyrus paused to laugh, “From radio rejection to my height, the baritone, my sun sign, my anniversary… I said this on KBC. I was playing with him, and he said, ‘Bhaisaab aap iske baad yeh mat bolna ke main baithunga aapki kursi pe (Now don’t say you’ll take my seat on the show as well)’.”

Sharad said that he has worked ‘a couple of times’ with Amitabh, and went on to praise him profusely. “He’s at a different level, you can’t reach it… His energy at this age, nobody can achieve. The enthusiasm, the force he has, nobody can match it.”
