Shamita Shetty shares she is suffering from endometriosis, undergoes surgery: ‘Listen to your body’
Shamita Shetty, sister of Shilpa Shetty, in an Instagram post, revealed that she had been battling endometriosis and has undergone surgery.

Shamita Shetty recently shared a health update with her fans via Instagram, revealing her battle with endometriosis for which she has undergone surgery. She urged her fans to take care of their own health. In a heartfelt video, also featuring her sister Shilpa Shetty, Shamita, seated on the hospital bed, opened up about her experience with the often-misunderstood condition. Shilpa can be heard asking her younger sister, “Kya hua (what happened)?”
The Bigg Boss 15 contestant emphasised the importance of recognising the symptoms of endometriosis as many women may be affected without realising it. Shamita encouraged fans to take care of their bodies and listen to their pain while promoting positivity during challenging times.

“All the women out there, please google endometriosis. You need to know what the problem is all about. Because you probably have it and you don’t even know you have it. Pain is there in your body for a reason, so listen to your body, and be positive,” she added.
As she prepared to undergo surgery, Shamita shared her gratitude for her doctors’ diligence in finding the root cause of her pain. The video garnered an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities, including Bipasha Basu, Dia Mirza, Umar Riaz, and Krushna Abhishek, who all sent well wishes for a speedy recovery.

Shilpa Shetty ended the clip by saying, “Swasth raho mast raho.” Shamita Shetty posted the video with a caption that read, “Did you know that almost 40 % of women suffer from Endometriosis.. and most of us are unaware of this disease!!! I want to thank both my doctors , my gynac dr Neeta Warty and my Gp dr Sunita Banerjee for not stopping till they found out the root cause of my pain! Now that I’ve had this disease surgically removed I’m looking forward to good health and now more physically pain-free days!”
