Mira Rajput took to Instagram this morning to share a special birthday message for her son Zain, who turned seven. The picture she shared shows Zain candidly chilling on the ground while playing football. In the sweet post, she wrote: “Cool beans, blue jeans and everything sweet if you please ✨ Happy 7th to our Zain, you make every day, a noisy seventh heaven 💙 Time to kick up another storm!”

The birthday wish comes just a day after Mira opened up about the loneliness she experienced following her marriage to actor Shahid Kapoor in 2015 and becoming a mother shortly after. Speaking on a podcast hosted by content creators Naina Bhan and Sakshi Shivdasani, Mira reflected on how her relationships with friends changed after she entered a new phase of life.

“I think we (Mira and her friends) did evolve separately. I’d like to admit that it was quite isolating because we were just in different phases of life at that time. You get to different phases in life, and you look at your friends. I wish I could do what she’s doing,” she said. Watching her peers chase academic and professional milestones often left Mira questioning her own journey.

“For the longest time, it was me thinking, ‘Oh, my friend has gone for her Master’s, or they’re travelling, or like there’s a gap year. You know, life is great. You move cities, you have a wonderful family, kids, all of that,’” she recalled. The disconnect, she added, even began to affect her friendships. “I even remember I couldn’t speak to them as often as I used to. They were like, ‘What has happened? Just because you’ve moved and gotten married doesn’t mean you forget us.’ I was like, ‘Guys, genuinely, I’m occupied and caught up and stuff.’ I don’t think they understood it then, but fortunately, the friendship kind of sustained. They understand it now because they’re in a similar phase.”

Mira and Shahid welcomed their daughter Misha in August 2016, followed by Zain in September 2018. Over the years, Mira has been vocal about not wanting to be identified solely as a “star wife.” She has since carved her own identity as an entrepreneur, launching her beauty label Akind and wellness platform Dhun Wellness. Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor recently wrapped up shooting his next film, a project directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film also stars Tripti Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Avinash Tiwary.
