Shah Rukh Khan’s Vikram Rathore finally gets his Alia Bhatt in a Jawan-inspired ad, but there’s a Ranbir Kapoor twist. Watch

Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor recreated a famous scene from the film Jawan for an advertisement. Fans are so impressed, the want the writer of the commercial to pen the Brahmastra sequels as well.

Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor have come together for a new advertisement by a leading steel brand. In the ad, Alia reprises her role as Shanaya from her debut film Student of the Year, Ranbir revisits his role as Barfi, and SRK sports his iconic bald look from Jawan. The ad recreates the fan-favourite hostage scene from Jawan, in which SRK’s character had joked about wanting Alia Bhatt when asked for his demands.

In this ad, SRK takes Alia and Ranbir hostage. When Alia asks him, “Who are you?” he delivers a popular line from Jawan, and asks about the house that Ranbir and Alia are building together in real life. Alia describes their house as pink and filled with love, but SRK insists on the importance of good-quality steel. Alia proudly mentions they’ve used Rungta steel, which impresses SRK. Ranbir continues to react to every moment as Barfi, even though Alia and SRK address him by different character names, like Shiva from Brahmastra, Sanju, and Rocket Singh. In the end, SRK tells Ranbir, “Bhai tu decide kar kaun hai tu (Decide who you really are).”

Fans on the internet were excited after watching the new ad and they also had hilarious reactions. In the film Jawan, SRK’s character has a dialogue where he says “Mujhe toh Alia Bhatt chahiye (I want Alia Bhatt),” when the authorities asked him what his demands were after taking several people hostage on a train. Reacting to the ad, one fan wrote, “Mil gayi Alia Bhatt.” Another said, “Vikram Rathore with Barfi & Shanaya in Jawan Metro, love it.” On Reddit, several fans praised the ad’s writers, and the actor’s willingness to poke fun at their personas. “Man this was fun, especially that Sharukh’s reaction when they play Shanaya’s song was too good,” one fan wrote. “Omg such a fun ad 😂😂😂 been a long time since I’ve enjoyed an ad. Kaun hai writer? Isko bolo brahmastra 2 & 3 likhe,” another fan joked.

Shah Rukh and Alia last collaborated for the film Dear Zindagi in 2016. SRK also had a cameo in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and then in Brahmastra. Released in September, Jawan continues to hold steady at the box office. On its 42nd day, the film, the film minted Rs 65 lakh, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the movie’s total domestic collection to Rs 637.95 crore. Helmed by Atlee, the film also starred Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Deepika Padukone among others.

Jail term over 2 years or serious charges: MHA issues new grounds to cancel OCI cards

The Indian government has announced that OCI cards, which allow foreign nationals of Indian origin to visit India without a visa, can be cancelled if the holder is sentenced to imprisonment for at least two years or is named in a charge sheet for an offence punishable by seven years or more. This new rule, effective since August 2005, adds to the existing grounds for revoking OCI status.
