Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is bringing in big numbers at the box office with fans celebrating the release across the country. The movie collected Rs 410.88 crore in nine days and the makers celebrated it with a success meet on Friday. During the interaction, Vijay Sethupathi shared his admiration for SRK, and the latter also expressed the same by joking that they could get married.

When the host asked Vijay about the kind of love he has received from Jawan, the actor said, “Don’t ask me. Sir has seen so much success. First of all, I didn’t expect so much love on the first day of release in Chennai, a lot of people called me and told me they couldn’t get the tickets for the first day-first show for Jawan. People love him (SRK) so much.”

He added, “The name Shah Rukh Khan is enough. The way he behaves, the way he treats people, he gives only love. Somebody has written Shah Rukh Khan, you can go and hug the name also, that’s enough. I love you sir.”

Shah Rukh responded to this admiration in his witty style and said, “I love you too. I love you all. I think after the press conference, I can propose to you, we can marry now. We will do a lot of acting together.” To which, Vijay replied, “Nothing wrong sir.” The audience and media present at the success meet hooted and cheered for this banter between the co-stars. In the film, Vijay plays the lead antagonist Kaali in the film.

The actors had indulged in a similar banter during a promotional event in Chennai, where Vijay had revealed how he couldn’t approach a school crush back then because she was in love with Shah Rukh. Vijay had then said, “When I was in school, I was in love with a girl. But she didn’t know. Every Jaanu has a Ram after all (a reference to his 2018 film ’96). But that girl was in love with SRK. It has taken these many years to have my revenge.”

To this, Shah Rukh said, “Everyone here spoke in Tamil and I am sure they all spoke good things about me. Except for Vijay Sethupathi, who was talking about a girl. Let me tell you one thing sir, you can have your revenge but not my girls. They are mine.”

Present at the press meet were Shah Rukh, Vijay, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and actor Deepika Padukone, who has done a cameo in the film. Film’s director Atlee was also part of the success meet. Other important cast such as Sunil Grover and Sanya Malhotra were also part of the event.
