Shah Rukh Khan lauds Jawan crew who worked the ‘hardest’; praises Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi and himself: ‘Mera toh jawab nahi…’
Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan was released in theatres on September 7. SRK addressed the media for the first time on Friday since it's release. He thanked the technicians who worked tirelessly on the film.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is creating new records at the box office. At the global box office, the Atlee directorial has crossed the Rs 650 crore mark. To celebrate the film’s success, the team of Jawan organised an event in Mumbai, where Shah Rukh extended his gratitude towards the technicians of the movie who worked tirelessly on it for four years.
SRK entered the stage amid the loudest cheer from the media and his fans who came to celebrate his film’s success. He began by telling them the purpose of the event, but not before requesting them to allow him a couple of minutes to speak. Shah Rukh said, “Thank you very much. People who have come here today have very little time, so let me talk for two minutes and then we can shout, whistle and scream, lot of reasons to do it. Biggest thank you to the press here, thank you fans…”
Revealing that Jawan had been in the making for the last four years, the Bollywood superstar, who plays a dual role in the film, thanked the movie’s crew members who shifted to Mumbai from South India until the film’s completion.

Shah Rukh continued, “Very seldom do we get this opportunity to live so many years with a film. Jawan has been in the making for four years, of course, because of Covid and time constraints. There were so many people involved in this film, especially people from the South, who came and shifted to Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years, working day and night for this film. They have worked the hardest. Many people didn’t go home, they were here to make the film. Some people even had babies here, like my director Atlee.”
Shah Rukh also heaped praise on the film’s cast, including actors Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Sunil Grover and his gang of six girls, played by actors Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Aaliyah Qureishi.
“Deepika Padukone is stunning, all the ladies in the film are beautiful, Vijay Sethupathi is outstanding, Sunil Grover is amazing. Aur mera toh jawab hi nahi.. (I am just great). But the real heroes and heroines of this film are the technicians who worked on this film for four years,” said Shah Rukh.
Jawan also stars Nayanthara, who skipped the event as it is her mother’s birthday. Actors Eijaz Khan, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya and Ridhi Dogra also star in the film.
Jawan had a fantastic start, making Rs 75 crore on its first day. On its eighth day, the movie minted Rs 19 crore net across all languages in India, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the film’s total net collection in India to Rs 345 crore, with the gross total reaching Rs 386 crore.
