Despite her divorce from Sohail Khan in 2022, Seema Sajdeh continues to share a close bond with her ex-husband’s family. In a recent interview, Seema shared how being married to Sohail and living with his family for so many years changed her life. She said that her association with the Khans is the biggest reason why she was chosen to be a part of a show like Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
In a recent interview with India Today, sharing the continued importance of the Khan family in her life, Seema Sajdeh said, “Firstly, I want to tell you one thing, I would not have this opportunity without my ex-husband’s family. I was still married when I did the first season, and the thing is that I share two children with them. To me, they are always going to be family.”
When asked if breaking away from them after her divorce was a hard thing to do. Seema clarified, “It’s not so much as breaking away from them. I looked at it as creating my own identity. It was not just about breaking away from ‘The Khan family’.”
She added, “I remember telling my son one day, ‘Was I put on this earth just to be your mother or someone’s wife, and someone’s daughter? What about me? I feel like I want my life to count for something. And I want to be able to look back and my kids to look back and see their mum as something more than just a wife, mum and a daughter.’ I think that was my driving point. There has to be more to me.”
However, she said that even as she was prioritising herself, her children remained extremely important to her. She said, “My children are and will always be my number one priority. Anything I do in my life, if it is not okay with them, I ain’t doing it. Whether it’s this show, or moving on in my life, or any big decision of life never happens if they are not okay with it.”
When asked how she feels when the family is sent threats, if that makes her worry for her children. Seema said, “I am always concerned. It’s natural. I am not just concerned for my kids, but all of them. I may have moved on, Sohail may have moved on, but we have two children, and at the end of the day, if it’s their family, it’s also mine. We are a family. I am attached and connected to them for life. I have spent so many years in that house. To a large extent, being in that marriage for so many years has shaped me into the woman I am today. I can only be grateful for it.”
Seema Sajdeh tied the knot with Salman Khan’s younger brother Sohail Khan in 1998. They have two sons, Nirvan Khan and Yohan Khan. They divorced each other in 2022, after which Seema changed her surname from Khan to Sajdeh. Seema is currently dating Vikram Ahuja, the man she was engaged to before eloping with Sohail Khan.
