Seema Sajdeh, who was recently seen in the third season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, shared in a new interview that children are “collateral damage” when a couple gets divorced. Seema was previously married to actor Sohail Khan and the couple shares two children, Nirvan and Yohan. Seema called her younger son Yohan her “soulmate” and then spoke about the effect of divorce on children.

“When two people get separated, the collateral damage is always the children. They didn’t ask for this. At the same time, people make them feel like victims, like they are in a tragedy. The truth is that you want your child to grow up being able to experience and know what love is,” she shared with Zoom. Seema said that being in a “traumatic marriage” is not ideal for children, and she believes that the parent has to be in a good headspace to give a healthy environment to children.

“I also believe that you cannot make your children happy if you are not happy. If I am going to be in a bad mood, if I am going to be irritable all the time, that irritation I am gong to take out on my kid. So if I am in a peaceful space, then I can make them happy,” she said.

Seema Sajdeh and Sohail Khan separated after 24 years of marriage in 2022.

“Nobody gets married to end it. You want a forever happily ever after but people grow. They grow into different human beings,” she said and added, “You had a beautiful life together, you had two beautiful children. I always tell Nirvan that you boys are born out of love. Sh*t happens in life but here we are, this is the hand we have been dealt but we are still a family. There is still a lot of love here.”
