After divorce with Sohail Khan, Seema Sajdeh says her sons want to ‘see both parents united for them’: ‘We did this to the kids’

“I have two children who are 11 years apart. So there is no age that defines what they go through, the grief they face and we did this to them, it’s not them. Compared to us, they are living in a world where there is so much information, there’s information overload also. Our children are automatically more self aware, they are more intelligent, they are more confident so they are being brought up in a world which didn’t exist when we were growing up,” she shared with Galatta India.

On one of the episodes, Seema’s older son Nirvan shared that Yohan was looking up the word ‘divorce’ when the parents were separating as he didn’t even know what the word meant. When asked about how Yohan is dealing with things now, Seema shared, “He is absolutely fine. It’s also not because of his age, their (Nirvan and Yohan) personalities are different. Like for Nirvan, I am his go-to person. I mean the first time he had a girlfriend, he called me and said I have a girlfriend, can I bring her home to see you? I mean, that’s my Nirvan for me. He is different. And Yohan is a child who internalises things. You have to get it out of him.”

Seema and Sohail divorced in 2022 after 24 years of marriage. They had been living separately for a while before divorcing each other. After being divorced for two years, Seema said that she is now starting to understand what children want from their parents. “I will be divorced nearly two years now and I can see that eventually, what children want are to see both the parents united for them, which is very very important and both of them to be happy. It’s peaceful for the child as well. They don’t feel so stuck anymore,” she said.

Seema is now dating Vikram Ahuja. She was engaged to Vikram in the 1990s, before she eloped with Sohail.
