Actor Sara Ali Khan believes ‘a penny saved is a penny earned’ and not embarrassed to say it aloud in public. Daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara has often spoken about her spendthrift lifestyle and has now admitted to being ‘stingy’ despite her movie star image.
A video of Sara Ali Khan was shared online recently where she said, “I’m very stingy.” Sara was in the UAE for the IIFA 2023 event where in an interaction with Brut India, she revealed that her producer told her to get roaming activated while she was travelling, but she decided not to do it as she would be in Abu Dhabi only for one day.
“This time Vicky (Zara Hat Ke Zara Bach Ke co-star Vicky Kaushal) and I had to coordinate. And I also had to coordinate with my producer Dinoo (Dinesh Vijan), and he literally sent me a voice note in the morning, saying, ‘Roaming comes for Rs 400, can you please got it,” shared Sara. The actor, however, went against the advise. ” I am too busy taking hotspots from my hairdresser, and I still don’t have roaming yaar. I mean I should not behave like this,” she said.
Sara went on to ask someone standing there, “Do you have roaming?” Who replied saying, ” Ya, of course,” to which Sara wrote, ” I don’t know what’s wrong with me?” She admitted, ” I used to think that it comes only monthly and am here only for one day so why would I get it, toh usse bach ke raho (stay away from it).”
Sara then asked, “But much is the roaming package?” In reply, she got Rs 3000 for 10 days. Sara then reacted, “Come on, Rs 3000 for one day, I might as well use hotspots. Mai ak din ke liye aayi hun, 10 din ka mujhe kya (I am here for a day, why should I spend for 10 days).” But someone confirmed that roaming for a day can be bought for Rs 400, to which Sara said, “Wahi mujhe bola tha (That is what I was told).”

Recently, when the actors Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show to promote their upcoming film, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Vicky revealed how Sara Ali Khan is self-admittedly stingy. He said that he saw Sara fighting with mother Amrita Singh when she found out the latter had bought a towel for Rs 1600. Sara accepted Vicky’s charge and explained that she found the towel extremely expensive when her vanity van is anyway provided with 2-3 towels.
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is now out in cinemas.
