When Salman Khan took a dig at singer Kamaal Khan, said he gets lots of offers but doesn’t take them: ‘He is busy doing nothing’
Salman Khan and singer Kamaal Khan had famously collaborated for the 1998 track 'O O Jaane Jaana.'

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is known for his witty quips and sarcastic and sassy comebacks, especially during media interactions. In one of his earlier media interactions for the 2004 film Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa, which has been uploaded by Wildfilms India, the actor could be heard pulling his frequent collaborator and singer Kamaal Khan’s leg.
Kamaal has sung for Salman multiple times over the years, most famously for “O O Jaane Jaana” in 1998 film Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya. Kamaal had also lent his voice to two tracks from the soundtrack of Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa, the title track as well as “Jaane Bahara.”
Speaking about one of the songs from the aforecited film, Salman said in Hindi, “Ye Kaamal ke life ka best gaana hoga, kyunki gaaye to sirf do hai. Ek O O Jaane Jaana, aur ek yeh. Unko gaane to bohot milte hai lekin unko time nahi hai. Kuch nahi karte wo lekin gaana nahi gana chahte. Unke paas upar wale ka diya hua bohot kuch hai. Takleef hoti hai, gadi mein baith kar studio chale jaaye. Gaana record kar lein. Lekin iss gaane pe bohot mehnat ki, Madras gaye the record karne, 15 minute me gaa kar bahar aaye. Thak gaye the bechare. Saans phulne lagi thi unki. Wo gaane me nazar aa raha hai aapko. Bohot acha gana gaya hai unhone. Dard hai, pain hai, actually wo exhaustion tha.”
The translation of which reads, “This is Kamaal’s best song yet, because he has only sung two tracks till date. One, O O Jaane Jaana, and this is the other one. He gets a lot of offers to sing, but he doesn’t take them up as he is busy doing nothing. He just doesn’t want to sing. He has been blessed with a lot of gifts by God, so he feels a bit lazy about getting up and driving his car to a studio to record a song. It pains him to carry out this task. But he has struggled a lot for this number, he event went to Madras to record it. He recorded it in 15 minutes, he was so tired, poor chap! He was breathing so heavily, you can even hear it in the song (laughs). But he has done a good job. There is pain in his voice, that was actually exhaustion.”
Salman Khan is currently riding a wave of success with his decently performing Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which has already done over a Rs 100 crore business in the country.
