Salman Khan suggested Varun Dhawan’s name as his replacement in ‘Shuddhi’

It can be only Salman Khan who might have suggested Varun Dhawan's name for the coveted lead role in 'Shuddhi'.

As soon as filmmaker Karan Johar took to Twitter to finally and officially announce the lead couple of his magnum opus ‘Shuddhi’, media went abuzz speculating all the possible reason that could have led to choosing young stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt for such mature roles.

Salman Khan, who was earlier finalised for the role, tweeted to congratulate Varun Dhawan:

Varun thanked Salman for this gesture and said that he’ll make him proud.

Varun later thanked Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra for making him a part of the grand movie.

And then Varun changed his display picture to one where he is posing with Salman.

All this makes one think that, in all probability, it can be only Salman who might have suggested Varun’s name for the coveted role. Alia’s inclusion came for she shares a good chemistry with Varun.

Also, according to a report published in Hindustan Times, “Not many are aware that he suggested Varun’s name as a possible replacement for him in the film. He is confident that Varun can carry off the challenging part (of the male lead). And both the Karans were more than happy to sign Varun for the film.”

Salman Khan is known to support and motivate young talent and thereby, has been instrumental in launching newer actors. Hence, it won’t be a matter of surprise if this news is true.
