Salman Khan reveals Sanjay Leela Bhansali ‘yells, throws things’ on set, advises him to spend time with Sooraj Barjatya to learn patience
Salman Khan opened up about how Sanjay Leela Bhansali loses his temper on set and advised him to meet Sooraj Barjatya to learn how to keep patience.

Trust Salman Khan to make the most candid revelations without blinking an eye. During one of his conversations with director Sooraj Barjatya, Salman shared how he once asked Sanjay Leela Bhansali to spend some time with Barjatya to understand how a filmmaker should keep patience while at work.
In one of the interviews with Rajshri, while Sooraj Barjatya was speaking about how he and Salman understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses, Salman cut in to add that the best quality about the director is his temperament. He added that he often gives his example to other directors about how to keep the working atmosphere happy.
“He makes the atmosphere excellent for his actors to perform. Even if the shift is getting stretched, lights are going, he doesn’t bother. Instead, he works on collaborating with his actors,” Salman said.
The actor added that Barjatya’s patience is to the level of Gautam Buddha and he never yells at his actors. In fact, Salman said that the director understands that if the actor is in a bad mood, he wouldn’t be able to perform well. “He knows if the actor is at his happiest best, he will perform the best,” Salman said with a smile.
Meanwhile, Salman remembered seeing Sanjay Leela Bhansali yelling on his set. The actor shared, “He was yelling… and apparently he does that a lot. I told him to go and hang with Sooraj for a bit. He is throwing things… He told me, ‘Yeah, I am losing it.’ I said the first thing you do (is keep patience). To make your actor look beautiful … Taj Mahal is made out of love. Mohabbat karte ho tab banta hai, nafrat se nahi (Taj Mahal is made out of love, not out of resentment).”
Looking at Sooraj Barjatya, Salman added that the filmmaker has only grown and evolved with time.
Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have collaborated in films like Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya.
