Actor Amit Sadh, who worked with Salman Khan on the blockbuster 2016 film Sultan, recalled memories of the star in a new interview. He looked back fondly on spending time with Salman at an Eid party at his Galaxy apartments home, where Salman forbid him from leaving early because he had a surprise planned for him.

Appearing on the Pop Talks podcast, Amit said that he wasn’t used to staying up late even back then, and even now goes to bed by sunset. But because he’d been hesitant about spending too much time with Salman on set, he’d promised to hang out once the film was declared a hit. The time came at Eid, when Amit found himself at Salman’s house, but was ready to leave by midnight. Salman had other plans.

Describing himself as ‘not a night person’, Amit said, “At 12, I went to Bhai and said ‘thank you so much’. Everybody was happy, it was one of his biggest films. He was very kind, he took me to everyone, said, ‘Meet Amit, he’s the hero of the film’. He said, ‘Wait, I have a gift for you, but ek ghante baad dunga‘.”

One hour turned to two, and two turned to three. Amit killed time by interacting with other guests that he knew. But after that, he went to Salman and tried to excuse himself by saying he has a shoot the next day. “Long story short, he didn’t let me go till 4:30 in the morning. Bhai’s energy at 4:30, am or pm, is fully charged. I was wearing a sherwani, he gave me his cycle. He knows I like riding, and he said, ‘This is yours’. Then we both got emotional and we were talking till 5-5:30 am. I left Galaxy on that cycle, in my sherwani.”

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan also starred Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda. It emerged as one of the biggest Bollywood hits of all time, having made over Rs 600 crore worldwide.
