‘Saif Ali Khan wouldn’t come on time during Bullett Raja shoot, finished 75 day schedule in 102 days,’ says Tigmanshu Dhulia

Saif Ali Khan wasn't very punctual when he was shooting for 2013 film Bullett Raja, recalled Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Saif Ali Khan in a still from Tigmanshu Dhulia's Bullett RajaSaif Ali Khan reveals he was extremely naughty growing up.

Saif Ali Khan was an unusual choice in the world of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s 2013 film Bullett Raja and in a recent interview, the director looked back on his experience of working with the actor. Dhulia said that the shoot schedule went haywire and while he said that they would get less time to shoot because of lesser daylight during winters, he also mentioned that Saif wasn’t very punctual here.

Talking about his experience, Dhulia told Mashable India, “The experience was very good. It could have been better if I had more time. The shoot was scheduled for 75 days but it finished in 102 days. I was under a lot of pressure.” Elaborating on what went wrong, Tigmanshu said, “We were shooting during winters so we would get less daylight. Saif wouldn’t come on time. Otherwise, the experience was good.”

In the same chat, the director also said that he likes when the actor surrenders completely and does not carry their own baggage on a shoot. “I want that when an actor works with me, they should be my friend. They should just surrender. They shouldn’t come with their baggage, or any kind of arrogance. When they surrender, it is easier,” he said.

Bullett Raja also starred Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Sheirgill. Set in Uttar Pradesh, the film was about the mafia and political nexus of the state. Vidyut Jammwal, Chunky Pandey, Ravi Kishan, Gulshan Grover and Raj Babbar appeared in supporting roles here. The film was not received well by the critics and didn’t do well at the box office too. Tigmanshu and Saif haven’t worked together in any film since then.

Saif will next be seen in Devara, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The film was shot in Telugu and is getting a pan-Indian release on September 27.
