Karan Johar is ready to deliver on the promise of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani being a grand tribute to the Bollywood musical dramas. Today, the makers shared the teaser of the film’s song ‘Tum Kya Mile.’ Sung by Dharma Productions’ constant Arijit Singh, the lyrics of the song are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and the music is composed by Pritam.

In the film’s teaser, which was released on June 20, snippets of ‘Tum Kya Mile’ could be heard playing in the background, providing a glimpse of the film’s enchanting music. Since fans could identify Arijit’s voice in the song, they were excited for its release. And they won’t have to wait long as the song will be released tomorrow. Sharing the teaser, Ranveer Singh wrote, “A song that will fill up your heart! #TumKyaMile song – OUT TOMORROW.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is Karan’s first theatrical release since 2016’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film didn’t just bring Karan back to the director’s chair, it also made him relive his love for love stories. Apart from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which talked about complex relationships, the filmmaker’s past projects as a director included two short anthologies – Lust Stories and Ghost Stories.

Recently, at ABP Networks Ideas of India Summit, Karan talked about his wish to make a pure love story. He said, “I did go through phases of evolution as a filmmaker. But right during the pandemic, I felt I just needed to make a movie that made me feel like I was 25 again.“And when I was 25, the only movie I could think of or make was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, because it was like an accumulation of all the movies that I had grown up watching. It’s a homage to Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Sooraj Barjatya.”

The grand sets, colourful sarees, romance on a snow cliff mountains, extensive dance numbers and shots of a family drama — by the looks of it Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani appears to embody the quintessential Karan Johar style. The highly-anticipated video release of the song ‘Tum Kya Mile’ promises to provide further insights into the film. Stay tuned!
