Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani box office collections Day 3: Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt film grosses Rs 85 cr worldwide, is 4th highest weekend grosser of 2023

Filmmaker Karan Kohar‘s latest romantic comedy drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani recorded a massive growth on Sunday, putting up its highest collections so far in three days. The Sunday collections saw a jump of nearly 15-20 percent from its Saturday collections of Rs 16 cr as it went on an overdrive and netted an estimated Rs 19 cr, reported industry tracker Sacnilk.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani box office collection was underwhelming on Friday with Rs 11 cr earning, considering the cast headlined by Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar returning to direction seven years after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. But the massive growth in the following days has pushed its three-day total to Rs 46 cr.

With this, the film has recorded the fourth highest weekend collections of the year after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Prabhas’s epic Adipurush. According to trade estimates, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also recorded a healthy worldwide gross and is targeting a whopping Rs 85 cr weekend global collections.

With a positive trending over the weekend, eyes will now be over its crucial Monday test, where the film should clock in collections in the range of Rs 6 cr. If Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani manages its Monday hold, the film will likely trend well in the week and pick up again its second weekend.

While it is likely to cross other family romantic comedy dramas of the year including Vicky Kaushal’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (Rs 87 cr) and Satyaprem Ki Katha (Rs 80 cr), Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will aim for the highest grossing film of the year in the similar genre– Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkar, which had clocked Rs 149 cr.

The film will have a free run now of 10 days, before Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 release on August 11. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars veterans Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
