Rihanna shares the reason for her quick departure from India, promises to return: ‘I had the best time’

After her unforgettable Super Bowl halftime performance last year, Rihanna held a rare private concert at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebration on Friday evening. This also marked Rihanna’s first-ever performance in India. Following the show, the pop star went live on Instagram with her friend Melissa Forde. During the brief session, Rihanna professed her love for India and explained the reason behind her quick departure.

En route to Jamnagar airport after her performance, Melissa started an Instagram live session. In the video, Rihanna, initially surprised, covered her face and asked, “Is this live for real?” She then expressed her love for India and promised to return soon, saying, “I had the best time in India. I only had two days. The only reason I am leaving India is because my kids are (unclear audio). I have to come back.”

During her performance on Friday evening, Rihanna captivated the guests with renditions of her iconic hits such as “Diamonds,” “Rude Boy,” and “Pour It Up.” She also shared the stage with Bollywood celebrities. Videos of her dancing with Janhvi Kapoor to the latter’s song “Zingaat” quickly going viral on Instagram. The Ambani family joined her on stage, offering her flowers and grooving along with her. Bride-to-be Radhika and Akash Ambani’s wife Shloka were seen jumping in joy alongside Rihanna.

Rihanna also posed with the paparazzi, who were present at the airport to click her pictures. She was clicked hugging the airport security staff and also posing for photos with them. Other notable international figures who graced Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding bash include Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Ivanka Trump.
