Ranbir Kapoor says he thinks of dad Rishi Kapoor every day as he wins Filmfare award, mother Neetu Kapoor says, ‘I prayed secretly…’

Ranbir Kapoor paid homage to his late father and legendary actor Rishi Kapoor in his heartfelt acceptance speech after bagging Best Actor Filmfare award for Animal. Neetu Kapoor also responded to Ranbir and Alia Bhatt's wins.

The night of the 2024 Filmfare Awards was a momentous one for Ranbir Kapoor. He clinched the Best Actor Award (Male) for his stellar performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal and also grooved with wife Alia Bhatt to the film’s hit track, “Jamal Kudu.” In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Ranbir paid homage to his late father and legendary actor Rishi Kapoor and also gave a shoutout to his daughter, Raha.

In his acceptance speech, Ranbir expressed his gratitude to Rishi Kapoor and said, “Every day I think of you, I remember you and everything that I feel for you… the love, the affection I try to channelise it through this part and I hope you are up there in peace and resting.”

Ranbir also dedicated a special mention to his daughter Raha, born just a week before he commenced shooting for Animal. He said, “And last but not least my daughter Raha… naughty… you were born and a week later I started principal shooting for Animal and every single day just to come home to you has been the most joyful experience of my life. Mumma and papa are bringing you a bua and a massi (referring to black lady) tonight to play… I can’t wait to experience every adventure with you… I love you naughty. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen… see you at the movies.”

Along with Ranbir, Alia Bhatt also bagged the award for Best Actor (Female) for her role in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Ranbir mother and actor Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to congratulate the couple and wrote, “I secretly prayed n wished a repeat of 2019 ( Sanju raazi ) so happy it happened again !!! Congratulations both of you ❤️❤️ proud very very proud 💕🙌 #animal #rockyranikipremkahani.”

On the work front, after their collaboration in Brahmastra, Alia and Ranbir are set to grace the screen again in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War, also featuring Vicky Kaushal in a lead role.
