Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is running successfully in theatres. In a recent chat, director Luv Ranjan revealed that Ranbir has “still not taken his money” for the film.

In a chat with NDTV India, Ranbir said that he “respects” Luv for putting everything on the line for the film. He shared, “I have heard that when my grandfather made films, houses would be mortgaged and my grandmother’s jewellery was mortgaged. That kind of putting your skin in the game, that level of madness to make movies, I always respect that. I feel this will be fun now because someone has put their life on the line to make a film. It sounds crazy to do all this for a film but there is respect too.”

Luv Ranjan shared that Ranbir Kapoor has “not failed” him in the last four years. “He has still not taken his money from me. There is a time in your life when you have to tell the other person that I am in need of this thing right now. So, in the last four years, he hasn’t failed me,” he said.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has made Rs 76.29 crore after six days in theatres. The film’s collections saw a significant dip on its first Monday after a rather successful weekend.

The Indian Express’ Shubhra Gupta gave Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar 1.5 stars in her review and called it “boring”. “The writers of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar clearly didn’t get the memo on brevity being the soul of wit: the film drags on for two hours before it comes to the last twenty minutes, which is when the pace picks up,” read a part of her review.
