Pakistan on Monday reacted to Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s remark on Sindh, calling it delusional, expansionist, and a violation of international law. “Such statements reveal an expansionist Hindutva mindset that seeks to challenge established realities and stands in clear violation of international law, the inviolability of recognised borders, and the sovereignty of states,” Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The reaction came after Singh, while speaking at a Sindhi community event in New Delhi on Sunday, said although Sindh is part of Pakistan today, “borders can change,” adding, “tomorrow Sindh may return to India”. A potentially catastrophic incident was averted at the Delhi airport on Sunday after an incoming aircraft accidentally landed on the wrong runway. An Ariana Afghan Airlines Airbus A310 aircraft operating from Kabul was given clearance to land on runway 29L at the Delhi airport; however, the aircraft landed on the parallel runway 29R. An Air India flight to Riyadh had just taken off from the same runway when the Ariana Afghan Airlines aircraft touched down. According to the pilot commanding the aircraft, there was a failure of the instrument landing system due to which the aircraft deviated from its path amid poor visibility, and ended up on the wrong runway. US President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reportedly been disbanded by the federal administration about eight months ahead of its schedule. The department to slash the federal government’s size was created by an executive order signed by President Trump on his first day in office after returning to the White House and the statement by the personnel management director confirmed the longstanding suspicions that DOGE was on its way out. When asked by news agency Reuters earlier this month about the status of DOGE, Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor said, “That doesn’t exist.” Read more
The Donald Trump administration is set to ramp up pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by designating the Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organisation. The move comes as Trump evaluates whether to take military action against Venezuela, which Trump has not ruled out despite bringing up the possibility of talks with Maduro. The court documents suggest that Meta employees proposed ways to curb child safety issues that have long plagued its platforms, but they were repeatedly blocked by executives who feared that new safety features would hamper teen engagement or user growth.
