Actor Priyanka Chopra is currently in Mumbai with her daughter, Malti Marie Jonas, as she attends the wedding ceremonies of her brother, Siddharth Chopra, and Neelam Upadhyaya. In a recent interview, the Barfi actor reflected on her own marriage and past relationships. During the interaction, Priyanka listed all the qualities she was looking for in a husband and admitted that she had been ‘hurt’ by the dishonesty of her previous partners.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, Priyanka revealed that she initially had doubts about taking her relationship with now-husband Nick Jonas to marriage, as she felt he might not be ready to start a family. At the time, he was just 25, while she was 35. She shared, “I wanted to be with someone who wanted a family. He was 25 and I was 35, so I assumed he didn’t, at least not any time soon.”

Priyanka, who has been in several high-profile relationships in the past, admitted that she had five essential qualities in mind for her future husband, with honesty being the most important. She explained, “The first was honesty, because there were times in some of my previous relationships when I’d been hurt by dishonesty. The second was that he had to appreciate the value of family. Third: he had to take his profession very seriously, because I take mine very seriously. Fourth: I wanted someone who was creative and had the imagination to dream big with me. And fifth: I wanted someone who had drive and ambition, like I did.”

During the interview, Priyanka emphasized that she wouldn’t have married Nick if he didn’t possess all five qualities. “I wouldn’t have married him if he didn’t,” she said.

On the professional front, Priyanka has had a busy schedule. She recently wrapped up shooting for her Hollywood film The Bluff, followed by Heads of State and Citadel Season 2. She was also in Hyderabad recently, and reports suggest that she may star in an SS Rajamouli film opposite Mahesh Babu. The film is expected to be in production until the end of 2026 and will have a theatrical release in 2027.
