Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, who recently starred in ‘OMG 2’ alongside Akshay Kumar, has opened up about how his father isn’t particularly fond of his achievements. Tripathi shared that his father hasn’t visited a movie theatre yet and also revealed his mother’s initial reaction after watching one of his films.

In an interview with Mashable, Tripathi said that his father visited Mumbai once to attend the housewarming ceremony of his first house. He said, “He is not attached to beautiful houses.” The actor added that his father is not aware of what he does in the film industry. He said, “He is not too proud of my achievements. My father does not even know what and how I do in cinema. To date, he has not seen how a movie theatre looks from the inside. He sees my work if someone shows him on their computer or on the television, which was recently installed at my house.”

Talking about his mother, Pankaj said, “My mother watches me on TV and says ‘Call him and tell he has become very thin, he is not eating and sleeping properly.’ She does not focus on my acting.”

People ask, ‘Don’t you have a Whatsapp number?’ I say ‘no.’ They again ask, ‘You have only one number?’ I say ‘Yes, I don’t use WhatsApp.’” He also revealed that he holds a special place for all his firsts, and still has his first car, which was an i10, and his first motorcycle.

Tripathi’s latest release OMG 2, which clashed with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer, is performing decently at the box-office. It earned Rs 9.5 crore on the opening day.
