Ahead of its release on August 11, OMG 2 makers dropped a powerful track from their film. Titled “Har Har Mahadev”, the song has Akshay Kumar in his Lord Shiva avatar, as he performs a powerful tandav. It also has a number of worshippers celebrating god as they danced to the high-octane tunes.
Composed and sung by Vikram Montrose, “Har Har Mahadev” has been penned by Shekhar Astitwa. Choreographer Ganesh Acharya has directed the song, getting Akshay to do some of the authentic tandav steps. Pankaj Tripathi, who plays the ‘Shiv bhakt’ in the film is seen applauding and appreciating the celebration from a distance in the music video.
In his earlier tweet, Akshay Kumar had asked blessings for the film’s success. He wrote, “Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. May the eternal energy of Adiyogi bless us through this journey.”
Written and directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 will release in theatres on August 11 and have a box office face-off with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Presented by Viacom18 Studio in association with Cape Of Good Films & Wakaoo Films, OMG 2 also has filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi attached as creative producer. Dwivedi had last year helmed Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj.
OMG 2 will be Akshay’s second theatrical release of the year, after the box office washout Selfiee, co-starring Emraan Hashmi. The actor has been going through a rough phase with consecutive films bombing at the box office.
