Nandita Das on ‘rapist’ remark: I’m being falsely quoted

Actor and social activist Nandita Das had a tough time today clarifying a quote which claims she never made. The ever active twitteratti went hammer and tongs slamming the actor for allegedly saying “All men are potential rapists.”

This alleged quote went viral within no time and the hashtag ‘#NanditaDasQuotes’ started trending on micro-blogging site Twitter. An array of sarcastic tweets made quite a furore under this hashtag.

The dusky actress then took to Twitter to clarify her stand and said that she was being misquoted. She tweeted:

I’m being falsely quoted Never said all men are rapists. What kind of a stupid generalisation is that? sad that 1 have to even explain this.
