“I was always in the right place at the right time, always willing to take advantage of an opportunity,” opens the trailer to the one of the most anticipated movies of the year ‘Main Aur Charles’ and with it, starts a wonderful retelling of the story of the ill-famous serial killer.
Randeep Hooda looks every bit the bad man and nails every epithet that explains him in the trailer – Intelligent, Dangerous, Charming, Manipulative, and Hypnotic among others. Adil Hussain, who plays Amod Kanth in the movie, also has a substantial part in the trailer.
Actresses Richa Chadha and Tisca Chopra also make their presence felt.
‘Main Aur Charles’ entails the life and times of the convicted Charles Sobhraj and his tryst with crime and legal system of India. The biopic set in the late 70s will be Randeep’s first movie after 2014’s ‘Highway’.
Sobhraj is accused of killing more than 20 young Western backpackers across Asia, usually by drugging their food or drink, in the 1970s and 1980s.
The movie has been intelligently directed and brilliantly picturised and surely makes for a must watch.
