Lok Sabha Election Result 2024 Highlights: Simi Garewal takes a dig at BJP, congratulates Rahul Gandhi; says, ‘Arrogance was avenged’

Ram Charan celebrated uncle Pawan Kalyan's win in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections 2024 with a tweet. "A proud day for our family! Congratulations to my Pawan Kalyan Garu on his phenomenal win!," Ram wrote on Twitter.

Pawan Kalyan has emerged as a formidable player in Andhra Pradesh, five years after he lost both the Assembly seats he contested. The Jana Sena chief won the Pithapuram seat in the Kakinada district by defeating Vanga Geetha of the YSR Congress Party by a margin of 70,279 votes. The actor-politician has not only scored his maiden electoral victory but his party has won all the 21 Assembly seats and both Lok Sabha seats it contested.
This makes them the second largest party in the 175-member Assembly. Pawan Kalyan aligned with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the polls.

Anupam Kher wished Kangana Ranaut on her Lok Sabha win and wrote, “My dearest Kangana! CONGRATULATIONS on your HUGE Victory! You are a #ROCKSTAR. Your journey is so so inspirational! So happy for you and the people of #Mandi and #HimachalPradesh. You have proved time and again that if one is focused and works hard ‘Kuch bhi ho sakta hai’! Jai ho! (Anything is possible).”

Tamil actor Vijay shared wishes for Pawan Kalyan after his party's performance in Lok Sabha elections 2024. "Congratulations to Shri 
@ncbn garu and @JaiTDP  for the decisive victory in the assembly elections to lead #AndhraPradesh. Wishing the people of AP great progress under your visionary leadership," wrote the leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

Mammoottty shared wishes for Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi on his win from Thrissur. "Hearty congrats dear Suresh on your victory (sic)," the actor wrote on social media with a photo of Gopi.

Mohanlal shared a photo of Suresh Gopi and wrote, "Congratulations dear Suresh," on X. Suresh Gopi emerged victorious from Thrissur, Kerala. he was contesting on a BJP ticket. 

Raj Babbar, who was contesting from Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency, has lost the election against BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh. 

Hema Malini got 5,10,064 votes in Mathura and won her third term in the constituency.

Shatrughan Sinha, who was contesting from Asansol as a candidate of All India Trinamool Congress got 605645 votes. He was competing against Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia of BJP, who got 546081 votes.

Arun Govil got 5,46,469 votes in Meerut. Initial trends indicated that the BJP candidate’s main competitor here was SP’s Sunita Varma. Sunita got 5,35,884 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party’s Devvrat Kumar Tyagi got 87,025 votes.

Arun Govil, who was BJP's candidate from Meerut, wins with 46.21% votes. Sunita Verma, who was a candidate from Samajwadi Party against him, got 45.32% votes.

Film director Abhishek Kapoor congratulated Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut after she won from Mandi. He shared in the comments section, "Huge congratulations."

Sunil Lahri congratulated Kangana Ranaut and shared in the comments section, "Kangana ji congratulation for winning Mandi seat for BJP best wishes to you for new responsibility I am sure you will be able to fulfill all your responsibility with best of the ability god bless you ???"

Actor and TMC's Asansol candidate Shatrughan Sinha has also been declared as winner against BJP's Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia.

"The credit for my victory goes to the Gandhi family, this is the land of the Gandhi family, this is the land of Rajiv Gandhi, I fulfilled the responsibility assigned to me by the Gandhi family. And in accomplishing this, Amethi residents, SP, Congress and all the alliance partners have contributed. Amethi has told that humility will prevail here, arrogance will not prevail here. I express my gratitude to the people here and the Gandhi family for this victory," KL Sharma said after his victory from Amethi constituency.

Sharma defeated incumbent MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani. 

After taking lead in Northeast Delhi constituency, Manoj Tiwari said, "It is a very good feeling that the party has shown trust in us and the people of our area gave a lot of confidence, especially in the situation when I was attacked by the candidate, and AAP leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal saying that they need to defeat Rinkiya's father, they were saying to defeat the father of a daughter. All these things are in my mind, but my character is different." BJP is leading in all 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

Actor Mahima Chaudhary took to Instagram to congratulate Kangana Ranaut. She wrote in the comments section, "Congratulations!! See u in Parliament." Kangana won the BJP deat from Mandi.

Allu Arjun congratulated Jana Sena party chief and actor Pawan Kalyan, who has won from Pithapuram. He wrote on social media, "Heartiest congratulations to @PawanKalyan garu on this tremendous victory . Your hardwork, dedication and commitment to serve the people for years has always been heart touching . Best wishes for your new journey to serve the people."

Pawan Kalyan received a warm welcome from wife Anna Lezhneva after his party's win in Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha elections. His elder brother Chiranjeevi also congratulated him on social media for the performance of his Jan Sena Party, "I am also supremely delighted at how my dear brother Pawan Kalyan steadfastly strived to ensure the Alliance WIN, keeping the people’s interests in mind. Heartiest Congratulations to you all." 

Hema Malini is all set to win at the Mathura Lok Sabha constituency for the third time. The actor is leading by 2,64,635 votes. The BJP candidate earlier said she's 'fully confident' of the party's win.

Uttar Pradesh's Amethi has voted in the favour of Congress, with BJP's Smriti Irani, trailing by a mammotth 1,39,450 votes.

National Award-winning Telugu actor Allu Arjun extended his heartiest greetings to his uncle and actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday for the latter's "tremendous victory" in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. Kalyan, who contested from the Pithapuram segment as a Jana Sena Party (JSP) candidate, has so far polled 1,32,725 votes, leading by a margin of 69,169 votes.

"Heartiest congratulations to Pawan Kalyan garu on this tremendous victory. Your hard work, dedication and commitment to serve the people for years has always been heart-touching. Best wishes for your new journey to serve the people," Arjun wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Though the Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to announce her victory, BJP candidate and Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut has come forward expressing her gratitude to all those who ensured her jeet (win) in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency, Himachal Pradesh.

Taking to social media on Tuesday, she wrote, "Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust?? 
This victory belongs to all of you. This is the victory of trusting Prime Minister Modi and BJP. This is the victory of Sanatan. This is the victory of Mandi's respect."

Approaching a landslide victory in her Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh, BJP's star candidate Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday praised Prime Minister and party leader Narendra Modi for her win. "We fought this election in the name of Narendra Modi. It is the result of his credibility and his guarantee and the faith of people in him that we are going to form the government for the third time," she said, news agency ANI reported.

Actor-producer and All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Adhikari Deepak, known by his stage name Dev, is currently leading in the Ghatal Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal by a margin of 1,23,087 votes. He has garnered a total of 5,26,869 votes so far. Dev's main rival, BJP's Hiranmoy Chatterjee is trailing with a total of 4,03,782 votes. Dev has been the MP of Ghatal since 2014.

While the vote counting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections progresses, BJP’s star candidate and Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi has emerged victorious in the Thrissur constituency of Kerala. This is the first time that the BJP clinched a Lok Sabha seat in Kerala. He emerged victorious by defeating LDF’s VS Sunil Kumar and K Muraleedharan.

"Thrissur njan edukkuva (I am taking Thrissur)," "Enikku venom Thrissur (I want Thrissur)." That’s the slogan with which BJP’s Thrissur candidate, actor-politician Suresh Gopi, led his election campaign this time. And it appears to have worked. Early trends show that Gopi, who’s been repeated by the BJP this Lok Sabha election despite having lost the previous one, could secure a historic victory at Thrissur.

Gopi, a Malayalam movie star, is leading by 73,573 votes against Communist Party of India’s B S Sunil Kumar at 1 pm, according to the Election Commission of India’s website. Also in the race is former Congress MP K Muraleedharan.

After seven hours of counting, BJP candidate and sitting MP Hema Malini's vote lead has reached 2,37,093 in the Mathura Lok Sabha constiuency of Uttar Pradesh with the Bollywood icon garnering a total of 3,88,231 votes. Her rival, Congress' Mukesh Dhangar, has polled only 1,51,138 votes so far.

As he nears victory in the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala, BJP candidate and Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi said, news agency ANI reported, "Attempts were made to divert their (voters) decisions and thoughts but God made their mind come to me... even if some of you feel that this is a miracle, this miracle was eminent... I fold my hands to the people of Thrissur, this happened because of them... Narendra Modi is my political God... I am not believing in just a manifesto... I will work for the whole Kerala... I will work as Kerala MP...”

In the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Telugu superstars, Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP candidate Nandamuri Bala Krishna, are currently leading in Pithapuram and Hindupur constituencies, respectively. While Kalyan is leading by 61,152 votes, Bala Krishna is ahead by 14,483 votes.

As the counting of votes polled in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections progresses, BJP candidate and Laapataa Ladies actor Ravi Kishan is maintaining lead in the Gorakhpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Garnering a total of 3,75,653 votes, Kishan is currently ahead of his opponent, Samajwadi Party's Kajal Nishad, by 51,785.

Actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani is trailing by over 87,000 votes in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, with the Congress' Kishori Lal in lead. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress received its biggest jolt in Amethi, when Smriti Irani had defeated Rahul Gandhi with 55,000 votes.

Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua is trailing by 90,000 votes in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh with Samajwadi Party's Dharmendra Yadav in the lead.

In the Kollam Lok Sabha segment of Kerala, which witnessed two celebrities in the fray — M Mukesh of CPI(M) and G Krishna Kumar of BJP — the Congress party candidate NK Premachandran is leading by a majority of over 1 lakh votes. So far, Mukesh has secured 2,14,944 votes, while Krishna Kumar has amassed only 1,18,213 votes.

In a major blow to the saffron party, actor and BJP candidate Arun Govil is struggling to return to form in Meerut Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh and is currently trailing by 21,105 votes. Samajwadi Party candidate Sunita Verma is leading here.

The ruling BJP's Virudhunagar candidate Raadhika Sarathkumar is currently trailing by 96,406 votes, having secured only 63,628  votes. The competition here is between Congress candidate Manickam Tagore and DMDK nominee V Vijaya Prabhakaran. The former is leading here now by just 203 votes.

In Andhra Pradesh, which went to Assembly elections recently, along with Lok Sabha polls, Telugu superstars, Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP candidate Nandamuri Bala Krishna, are currently leading in Pithapuram and Hindupur constituencies, respectively. While Kalyan is leading by 38,054 votes, Bala Krishna is ahead by 10,950 votes.

As the vote counting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections continues, BJP's star candidates Suresh Gopi and Kangana Ranaut are currently leading in Thrissur (Kerala) and Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) constituencies, respectively. Both of them are ahead of their rivals by over 70,000 votes. Bagging a total of 4,78,949 votes, Kangana's lead now stands at 70,210, while Suresh's lead has reached 71,136 with a total of 3,80,655 votes.

After maintaining lead for a few hours, actor and BJP candidate Arun Govil is currently trailing in Meerut Lok Sabha constituency of Uttar Pradesh by 7,183 votes. Samajwadi Party candidate Sunita Verma is leading now.

Actor and Congress leader Raj Babbar is currently leading in Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency, Haryana, by 23,218 votes against BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh. Babbar, former MP and chief of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), has so far polled 3,35,540 votes.

Actor, Singer and Bigg Boss 4 contestant Manoj Tiwari is currently leading in his sitting Lok Sabha seat of North East Delhi by 71,093 votes. He has so far polled 3,03,582 votes against Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar's 2,32,489 votes.

BJP candidate and Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut, who is currently leading by 54,042 votes in the Mandi parliamentary constituency of Himachal Pradesh, has responded to her opponent Vikramaditya Singh's recent comments on her. "...Mandi has not taken kindly to the insults for daughters. As far as my departure to Mumbai is concerned, this (Himachal Pradesh) is my 'janmabhoomi' and I will continue to serve people here...So, I am not going anywhere. Perhaps, someone else will have to pack their bags and leave. I am not going anywhere," she told news agency ANI.

Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief and Telugu star Pawan Kalyan, popularly known as "Power Star," is maintaining lead in the Pithapuram Assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh by a margin of 22,818 votes. He has so far polled a total of 40,693 votes.

After trailing for quite some time, All India Trinamool Congress' (TMC) Shatrughan Sinha is now in the lead in his Asansol segment, West Bengal. Having bagged a total of 2,06,504 votes, Sinha is ahead of his opponent, BJP's Surinderjeet Singh Ahluwalia, by 20,882 votes.

In Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal, BJP candidate and actor Locket Chatterjee is currently trailing by 14,474 votes as TMC's Rachana Banerjee maintains lead. Chatterjee had won the seat last time by a majority of 73,362.

Former actor-fashion model, Union Minister of Women and Child Development and sitting MP Smriti Irani is currently trailing in the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency, Uttar Pradesh, by 32,006 votes, having secured a total of 77,486 votes. Congress candidate Kishori Lal is leading here with a total of 1,09,492 votes.

While the ruling BJP is struggling to cross the 300-seat mark in the Lok Sabha elections, let alone the "400 paar" goal, its Virudhunagar candidate Raadhika Sarathkumar is currently trailing by 40,408 votes, having secured only 23,924 votes. Meanwhile, DMDK candidate V Vijaya Prabhakaran is leading in this constituency by 4,834 votes.

In Hindupur Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate and sitting MLA, film star Nandamuri Bala Krishna, is currently leading by 1,994 votes, with a total of 6,789 votes against YSRCP's Deepika TN.

In a significant boost for the ruling BJP, which has been experiencing trends contrary to exit poll predictions since the counting began today morning, its star candidates Kangana Ranaut and Suresh Gopi are leading by over 30,000 votes in their constituencies of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and Thrissur, Kerala, respectively. Kangana is currently leading by 36,199 votes, with a total of 2,60,289 votes against Congress' Vikramaditya Singh. Former Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Gopi is ahead by 32,212 votes, having received a total of 1,74,090 votes so far.

In the Mandi parliamentary constituency of Himachal Pradesh, BJP candidate and Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut is currently leading by 31,092 votes. She has so far received 2,25,654 votes, while Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh stands second with 1,94,562 votes. Telugu star Pawan Kalyan is currently leading by 13,494 votes in Pithapuram Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh.

While most celebrities, who contested from various constituencies across the country in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, are maintaining lead, All India Trinamool Congress' (TMC) Shatrughan Sinha is currently trailing in his Asansol segment, West Bengal. BJP candidate Surinderjeet Singh Ahluwalia is leading here by 4,887. Sitting MP Sinha has so far polled 47,310 votes in Asansol.

BJP's star candidate and former Rajya Sabha MP, actor Suresh Gopi, has improved his lead further in the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency, Kerala, and is currently ahead of LDF candidate VS Sunil Kumar by 7,434 votes. The saffron party candidate has so far received 50,644 votes.

In Mathura Lok Sabha constituency, Uttar Pradesh, Bollywood star and sitting BJP MP Hema Malini is currently leading by 20,706 votes. She has so far polled 32,818 votes, ECI data shows.

“A Union Minister for Thrissur, Modi’s guarantee’’. The BJP’s prospects in this constituency are being built, day by day, on this promise of actor-turned politician Suresh Gopi. There is another, more personal slogan that the former Rajya Sabha MP has dusted off from his unsuccessful 2019 campaign from the seat: “Thrissur njan edukkuva (I am taking Thrissur), Enikku venom Thrissur (I want Thrissur)”.

Gopi finished third in 2019, behind the Congress and CPI candidates, but got an impressive 2.93 lakh votes. Now, Thrissur is one of the constituencies in Kerala the BJP is betting on to win, on the strength of Gopi’s popularity, the Hindu votes, and its own efforts in the state towards wooing the Christian community, which forms around 21% of the electorate.
